First, I took a 2'x4' sheet of 1/8" MDF board. I drew 1" squares on them.
Then, I took my pattern I drew up in Excel, then copied it onto the square grid.
After that, I took my jigsaw and cut out all of the zones. Here's what they look like after they've been cut and the edges have been shaved down.
After this, I took 3/4" pink insulation foam, cut out the 2" by 6" or 7" rectangles, depending on where I needed them. I then glued these on with wood glue.
I went and picked up 1/8" x 1/4" x 36", 1/8" x 1/8" x 36", and 1/16" x 1/8" x 36" basswood sticks to make the trench walls. I'll be doing that tomorrow and Monday after I cut the foam to give it a mound shape. Then I'll use crushed walnut shells to make dirt all over after I build the trenches.
That is awesome progress in one day!! :-) Great job!
