Brian (Pook) and I played the start of an Unbound game on 7/23. I was rather proud that both of us had a majority of our models painted. Both of us were only 11 models short on each side from being fully painted.
Playing Unbound for the first time proved a few things to me. First, it is not for the faint of heart. Playing 150 points to a side is a ton of models and can take all day. We went into it expecting to play until 7 PM after starting at 12 PM. We only played until 3 PM, finishing 1 round and 2 turns of the next round. Part of the problem was me having to help other players at the store out constantly during the game. This brings me to the second point, be prepared to spend all day focused on this event, otherwise, you won't finish. Just setting up your turns and deciding on what to do takes a while. Models block each other in ways that you just don't expect. Third: know your faction. Every time you have to look at your cards is time you could have been making your moves. I need to spend some more time memorizing my own models' stats and I'll feel much better playing this again.
I learned some other things while playing this game as well. 1, don't block your Wraith Engine from going anywhere. It did nothing except provide +2 ARM to Wraith Witch Deneghra on Round 2 and I wanted more out of it. It was my mistake each time, so I learned to not block its path. 2, don't take free strikes unless you are 100% sure you should be taking them. 3, use Satyxis Raiders to jam my opponent on their side of the table. Being stuck on the middle line sucked.
My Unbound list was this:
150+15 points, 73 models
Wraith Witch Deneghra +6 points
* 2x Defiler 5 points each
* Nightmare 10 points
* Ripjaw 5 points
* Skarlock Thrall 2 points

Painted Harrower - WIP 1
I'm continuing my work on my Harrower for my Mortenebra Theme Force/Hardcore list. He's pretty integral to the list due to his ability to Thresher with Reach and gain souls. He'll allow me to kill a lot more models, specifically infantry. My Mortenebra list can easily deal with heavies, it gets bogged down by infantry. That's why the Harrower is immediately in the list.

Painted Darragh Wrathe Mounted
Here's the almost final Darragh Wrathe. I need to figure out what to do about the horse's undead flesh, but for now, I'm leaving it as it is. His base needs some tufts of grass, but I do my basing in batches, to make it easier on myself. I'm quite happy to have him finished, as now my Lich Lord Asphyxious list is fully painted. I also think my Wraith Witch Deneghra lists are as well. Darragh gets around in a lot of my lists, because he is so damn versatile. Between being Light Cavalry, effective in melee, and with a kick ass suite of spells, it is hard not to spend the 4 points on him. An offensive spell, and defensive buff, and an out-of-turn movement spell are just fantastic. More-so on a SPD 8 model with a 5" move after he does his thing. He's just great.

Painted Darragh Wrathe Dismount
I've been working on painting my Darragh Wrathe for my Warmachine Weekend lists in addition to my Theme Force projects. He's been half done for awhile, so I decided to finish him up tonight.
His eyes are all black, and I'm not sure I have the precision right now (or a small enough brush) to get the whites on the sides. I screwed it up three times on one eyeball alone to do it right four times!

SR2011 Tournament
Yesterday I hosted a SR2011 tournament. We had 7 players, 5 local and 2 from Madison. One of the locals played in this as his first tournament, which was really cool. The prize for first place in this event was a Battle Engine of their choice, even the upcoming ones.
The tournament was only going to run for 4 rounds, no matter the number of players, but because we didn't break 8, only 3 rounds were needed. Scenario wins placed a player higher that Strength of Schedule in this event, which is why the player who faced the top player in the final round took 3rd, not 2nd. I forgot to put Finals Tables in the rules for the event and I don't change things after people have come to events...
We played Capture the Flag, Overrun, and Command and Control. One player won Overrun by scenario and another won Command and Control by scenario.
Here's the final results:
1st - Fool - Minions - 3/0 (Won the Retribution Battle Engine)
2nd - Adam - Cryx - 2/1 with 1 scenario win
3rd - Andy - Legion - 2/1
4th - Brian G. - Cryx - 2/1
5th - Brian C. - Skorne - 1/2 with 1 scenario win
6th - Danny - Circle - 1/2
7th - Nate - Cygnar - 1/2
8th - Bye - No one - 0/3

Painted Mechanithralls
I just finished painting a 10 man unit of Mechanithralls. These models put me to 12.94% fully painted of my entire collect, 33.71% fully painted of my Cryx. I'm happy to have them done, even though I wish I did the 3 Brute Thralls that attach to the unit at the same time. They are next on my project list!
This unit satisfies my painting requirement for Mechanithralls for my Scavengers of the Line Theme Force for Iron Lich Asphyxious as well.

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 3
When I left you last time, I had only finished planking 2 of the 19 trenches. I just finished 3 more. Here's the photo of them.
I also finished cutting all the rises in the pink insulation foam for the remained 14 trenches. Now, I just need to plank them all. I'm fairly sure I'll need to hit Michael's again for more 1/16" inch planking because I'm burning through my stockpile.

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 2
Here are some updated Trench photos. I've only finished these two pieces, but I wanted to get some test pieces done before really working on the rest.
I'm planning on using Sculptamold to build up the ramps so that a small, medium, and large based model can sit on it without falling off. Also going to use crushed walnut shells to give it the appearance of dirt.

Terrain Work - Trenches
I decided I wanted to build some terrain after seeing some trenches on the Privateer Press forums. Trench Thread. So, I broke out my No Quarter issue #29, started planning out the work I'd need to do to get this done. Spent today at the game store working on them. Here's my progress.
