Here's my last post for 2011 and one that should be three separate posts! Here are the final four models I've got painted for 2011. They are Viktor Pendrake, a Croak Hunter, and the two man Swamp Gobber team. I'm happy with how they all came out and can't wait to see them dipped.
These 4 models put my total for 2011 to 61 models. My goal for next year was 75, but in light of the last month and a half, I'm raising my goal to 100. I should be able to do it and I've been really enjoying playing fully painted armies on the table.

New Dire Trolls
Privateer Press posted the new plastic Dire Trolls today. I like the new look of these models because I really disliked the weird hands of the first Dire Troll Mauler. I actually think the new one is an improvement. The Extreme Dire Troll Mauler is still much better.
Between the three models you can make, it doesn't look all that bad. Sure, you suffer from a single chassis, but reducing the cost of the three kits I think is worth it. It'll be interesting to see Rök's character addons.

Cygnaran Mechanik & Co.
This Journeyman league has been great for motivation to paint the odds and ends that have been in my basement collecting dust (It is hard for models to mock your lack of motivation from the corner of a basement).

Painted Thrullg 2 - WIP
So, instead of painting my Bog Trogs yet again, I decided to finish my second Thrullg. To separate the two on the battlefield, I took Seraphsong's suggestion and painted this one green. Simple scheme just the like the last one and it painted up quick.

As I work on trying to finish my Bog Trog unit, I've been working on a Thrullg when I get bored. A Thrullg has a pretty simple color scheme, so I finished him rather quickly.

Painted Feralgeists
Here are my 3 Feralgeists for Minions. They were really simple to paint: a wash over Menoth White Highlight and then paint the base details. I have one red, one turquoise, and one green.

Travis has graciously offered to allow me to post my work on his blog. For those who don't know me, I play at the local Hobby Town New Berlin and am a constant pain in Travis' ass. So without further ado, here are the fruits of my Journeyman League labors thus far:

Here's my painted Bullsnapper, following the same color scheme as my first Gatorman Posse unit and Blackhide Wrastler. I really like the motivation train I'm on right now cause I am cranking out the models.

Painted Blackhide Wrastler 2 - WIP
After painting up my first Wrastler and having some time during a conference call, I decided to start up my second Wrastler. He's painted a little differently to tell the two apart: grey underbelly instead of yellow, green back instead of grey, and grey cloth hood instead of brown. My opponents should easily tell the two apart. I'm applying these differences to anything that I have duplicate in Minions. I'll need to find something for the triplicates though...
Here's the pictures!

Painted Blackhide Wrastler - WIP
Here's my Blackhide Wrastler for the Journeyman League. He'll be getting the dip shortly. I'm rather happy with how he turned out. He's painted the same as the Gatorman Posse I've previously painted. The next Wrastler and Posse get their own scheme too. It is something I thought would be unifying in the army.
I really hated painting the ropes on his hands. It just sucked.

Painted Ironback Spitter - WIP
Here's some pictures of the model I'm working on now. It is the Ironback Spitter. I didn't realize before I started painting this how many scales this monster had and it is draining me painting them all. Hopefully I'll finish him up tomorrow.
Who's The Boss December 2011
This last weekend I played at the Who's the Boss event at Misty Mountain Games in Madison, WI. The concept of the event was that you make a 50 + 5 warjack/warbeast point list with a minimum 10 points in your battlegroup with no warcaster/warlock. Before each round, you spun the wheel to determine which warcaster/warlock was your leader. You couldn't get your own faction's warcasters/warlocks. It was amusing with some of the combinations (Trollbloods with Stryker1 for example really were INVINCIBLE!).

Goals for 2012
Instead of painting aimlessly in 2012, I've decided to try to come up with some goals for next year.
Any suggestions on any other cool goals?
- Paint 75 models next year, from any faction (1.4 models a week)
- I finished 53 models this year to date, this should be doable
- Finish at least 1 unit I have half done (off the top of my head, I have a 11-woman Satyxis Raider unit or a 12-man Exemplar Errant unit to finish)
- Blog 12 battle reports
- Finish two Theme Forces at 50 points, Tier 4
- Extra Credit for finishing a Theme Force that has no painted models currently
- In the competitive environment, only play painted models
- Leagues and trying stuff out is ok to be unpainted
- If I play a model for more than 6-10 games, it goes on the painting list
- Paint at least 5 warcasters/warlocks
- Build a city Unbound table for Adepticon in April
- Paint Ogre Army for Fantasy that I purchased this year
- At least finish Ironguts and Ogre units
Any suggestions on any other cool goals?

Painted Gatormen Posse
I finally got around to finishing up my Gatormen Posse unit. They aren't that hard to paint, and I think they turned out really well. I went with the Strong Tone dip from Army Painter and it worked wonders on the crevasses on the models.
As it worked out well on these models, I'm going to try to crank out a few more of the models before league ends.

Journeyman League - Week 1
The Journeyman League started at Hobbytown USA. We have 10 players so far and a bunch of new faces. I'm very excited for this slow grow league and having the new players play more.
In picking a faction, I looked at a few things. I wanted something I didn't already know well. I also wanted something I could paint relatively easily. I also needed to have a relatively fleshed out collection of the models or know that I'd be able to purchase more if needed. After spending some time looking at my collection, it came down to Minions, Farrow vs. Gators. The Minion faction is splintered in the Journeyman League by making you stay within a contract for the entire league, which I'm honestly happy about. In the end, it came down to the number of models to paint and the Blindwater Congregation had less. I'm hoping to get a majority of my 50 models done within the subfaction.

Domination Event Terrain
I'm running a Domination Event this Saturday at Hobbytown USA in New Berlin, Wisconsin. For that, we needed to make two 6" x 15" mountains and 6 50mm diameter boulders per table. I've limited the event to 6 tables because I don't have enough insulation foam to make more mountains or boulders (plus my hands hurt from cutting it all).
Here's some WIP pictures of the mountains, being painted by my FLGS owner because he likes to work on terrain.

Painted Erebus - WIP
Here my current work on Erebus. I'm quite happy with how the armor came out. It is Bane Base with a drybrush of Bane Highlight over it. My FLGS owner likes it so much he's got me mostly convinced I need to do it on all of my warjacks. I'm mostly inclined to believe him on it so my next Defiler/Ripjaw will feature that colored armor rather than black.

Painted Lord Exhumator Scaverous
I've been working on Lord Exhumator Scaverous for about two weeks now, in an attempt to get him finished for Lost Hemisphere's Paint the Target for September. I failed to finish it then because he has a crazy amount of detail.
Today, the bug bit me to be painting while I watched football, baseball, and then more football. So here he is.

Unbound Game 2
I got together with three friends (Konkel, Dave, and Danny) to play a big Unbound game. It would be my second game and everyone else's first. We decided that we'd determine the scenario and teams randomly before the game (this won't happen again). We ended up with Protectorate of Menoth (Dave) and Circle Orboros (Danny) against Konkel (Khador) and myself (Cygnar this time around). Talk about teams that hate their teammates!
We ended up playing the Scorched Earth scenario. Konkel and I were the defenders, Dave and Danny the attackers. In hindsight, I'm always choosing to be the attackers going forward as Konkel and I had the choice.
The game ended on turn 3 with Danny and Dave destroying three buildings to achieve victory. Konkel and I just didn't have the speed to cope with their lists. Well, this lesson with just remind me to play Cryx and play fast stuff.
Each player brought 100 points to the table. List and photos of the start and end of the game after the break.

Painted Slayer
So I've finished another model, this time a Slayer Helljack. This completes my latest Theme Force, Master Necrotech Mortenebra's Infernal Machines. I still need to base the model, but I'm hoping to win some Dragonforge bases to do it with. This model was pretty simple to paint as it is the basic helljack of the Cryx forces.

As we last saw here, my Harrower was about 2/3rds of the way done. Tonight, I managed to get the painting bug (and infect a few of my friends with it) and got the bad boy done. Hell yeah! About time too because I need to get a Theme Force done for Lost Hemisphere for the Vox Populi Clash painting. I'm currently working on my Mortenebra Theme Force as it is one of my favorites. Without further ado, the finished Harrower (except basing).

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 6 - Command Trench Finished
Jeff at Hobbytown USA helped me finish my trench after I finished building it. Here it is in all its glory. I can't wait to play games on it tomorrow at the Wrath event in Chicago. I get to visit my friends in Chicago and get to play my first game ever against Seraphsong! This will be a great time.

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 5
Continuing along with my Command Trench from Part 4, I've added Sculptamold to the sides. It was interesting to work with it for the first time on a terrain project, but I'm going to be using it for anything that needs dirt on it because it does so well with adding depth with no real work. After that, I put more ballast on the sides. I need to clean it up a bit and glue more ballast down, but I think I'm at a good spot at the moment. I have to figure out what I want to do for painting next

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 4
I'm working on new trenches for the Wrath event and the Unbound scenario that requires them. The first one I'm working on is a 5"x8" trench with two open sides. I've also made a 5"x8" trench that was fully surrounded, but I haven't planked that one yet.

Battle Report: Cryx vs Skorne
I ended up playing Warwitch Deneghra vs Void Seer Mordikaar at 50 points last night. The main consensus I can get from the game is that my opponent can't roll dice and that Warwitch Deneghra's feat is just cruel when it hits the entire army. I ended up getting Nightmare on Mordikaar under Mordikaar's feat turn, still did some damage, but couldn't kill him. Deneghra's feat prevented any retaliation from anything in his army. He placed his warbeasts too far apart and on the flanks while my army just moved in on the weak side of his army. Gorman di Wulfe died to protect Nightmare from a possible charge from a Bronzeback. I'm not sure if the Bronzeback could have still made it with Beat-Back and Rush (not in that order). We played Revelation and my army pretty much swarmed Flag #1 to keep my opponent from scoring. I ended up winning because I scored one point and had a free turn of attacking Mordikaar with Nightmare with Mordikaar not having any fury.

Project: Weird Science
My friend Michael and I came up with a crazy idea: field an army of all Stormsmith type models. This was prompted by my purchase of two Storm Striders, Privateer Press' newest battle engine. They are wicked cool, and I can't wait to field both in the army.
The first iteration of the idea wasn't strictly Stormsmiths, I had the following list. It was just a generic attempt to utilize the Storm Striders in a pair, at 35 points.
I then wanted to make it 50 points just in case someone decided to challenge me to that type of game at the store.
Here's a picture of the list in progress. I own everything, just didn't have it all with me when the photo was taken. The second Storm Strider is still in progress of assembly.

Unbound Game 1
Brian (Pook) and I played the start of an Unbound game on 7/23. I was rather proud that both of us had a majority of our models painted. Both of us were only 11 models short on each side from being fully painted.
Playing Unbound for the first time proved a few things to me. First, it is not for the faint of heart. Playing 150 points to a side is a ton of models and can take all day. We went into it expecting to play until 7 PM after starting at 12 PM. We only played until 3 PM, finishing 1 round and 2 turns of the next round. Part of the problem was me having to help other players at the store out constantly during the game. This brings me to the second point, be prepared to spend all day focused on this event, otherwise, you won't finish. Just setting up your turns and deciding on what to do takes a while. Models block each other in ways that you just don't expect. Third: know your faction. Every time you have to look at your cards is time you could have been making your moves. I need to spend some more time memorizing my own models' stats and I'll feel much better playing this again.
I learned some other things while playing this game as well. 1, don't block your Wraith Engine from going anywhere. It did nothing except provide +2 ARM to Wraith Witch Deneghra on Round 2 and I wanted more out of it. It was my mistake each time, so I learned to not block its path. 2, don't take free strikes unless you are 100% sure you should be taking them. 3, use Satyxis Raiders to jam my opponent on their side of the table. Being stuck on the middle line sucked.
My Unbound list was this:
150+15 points, 73 models
Wraith Witch Deneghra +6 points
* 2x Defiler 5 points each
* Nightmare 10 points
* Ripjaw 5 points
* Skarlock Thrall 2 points

Painted Harrower - WIP 1
I'm continuing my work on my Harrower for my Mortenebra Theme Force/Hardcore list. He's pretty integral to the list due to his ability to Thresher with Reach and gain souls. He'll allow me to kill a lot more models, specifically infantry. My Mortenebra list can easily deal with heavies, it gets bogged down by infantry. That's why the Harrower is immediately in the list.

Painted Darragh Wrathe Mounted
Here's the almost final Darragh Wrathe. I need to figure out what to do about the horse's undead flesh, but for now, I'm leaving it as it is. His base needs some tufts of grass, but I do my basing in batches, to make it easier on myself. I'm quite happy to have him finished, as now my Lich Lord Asphyxious list is fully painted. I also think my Wraith Witch Deneghra lists are as well. Darragh gets around in a lot of my lists, because he is so damn versatile. Between being Light Cavalry, effective in melee, and with a kick ass suite of spells, it is hard not to spend the 4 points on him. An offensive spell, and defensive buff, and an out-of-turn movement spell are just fantastic. More-so on a SPD 8 model with a 5" move after he does his thing. He's just great.

Painted Darragh Wrathe Dismount
I've been working on painting my Darragh Wrathe for my Warmachine Weekend lists in addition to my Theme Force projects. He's been half done for awhile, so I decided to finish him up tonight.
His eyes are all black, and I'm not sure I have the precision right now (or a small enough brush) to get the whites on the sides. I screwed it up three times on one eyeball alone to do it right four times!

SR2011 Tournament
Yesterday I hosted a SR2011 tournament. We had 7 players, 5 local and 2 from Madison. One of the locals played in this as his first tournament, which was really cool. The prize for first place in this event was a Battle Engine of their choice, even the upcoming ones.
The tournament was only going to run for 4 rounds, no matter the number of players, but because we didn't break 8, only 3 rounds were needed. Scenario wins placed a player higher that Strength of Schedule in this event, which is why the player who faced the top player in the final round took 3rd, not 2nd. I forgot to put Finals Tables in the rules for the event and I don't change things after people have come to events...
We played Capture the Flag, Overrun, and Command and Control. One player won Overrun by scenario and another won Command and Control by scenario.
Here's the final results:
1st - Fool - Minions - 3/0 (Won the Retribution Battle Engine)
2nd - Adam - Cryx - 2/1 with 1 scenario win
3rd - Andy - Legion - 2/1
4th - Brian G. - Cryx - 2/1
5th - Brian C. - Skorne - 1/2 with 1 scenario win
6th - Danny - Circle - 1/2
7th - Nate - Cygnar - 1/2
8th - Bye - No one - 0/3

Painted Mechanithralls
I just finished painting a 10 man unit of Mechanithralls. These models put me to 12.94% fully painted of my entire collect, 33.71% fully painted of my Cryx. I'm happy to have them done, even though I wish I did the 3 Brute Thralls that attach to the unit at the same time. They are next on my project list!
This unit satisfies my painting requirement for Mechanithralls for my Scavengers of the Line Theme Force for Iron Lich Asphyxious as well.

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 3
When I left you last time, I had only finished planking 2 of the 19 trenches. I just finished 3 more. Here's the photo of them.
I also finished cutting all the rises in the pink insulation foam for the remained 14 trenches. Now, I just need to plank them all. I'm fairly sure I'll need to hit Michael's again for more 1/16" inch planking because I'm burning through my stockpile.

Terrain Work - Trenches, Part 2
Here are some updated Trench photos. I've only finished these two pieces, but I wanted to get some test pieces done before really working on the rest.
I'm planning on using Sculptamold to build up the ramps so that a small, medium, and large based model can sit on it without falling off. Also going to use crushed walnut shells to give it the appearance of dirt.

Terrain Work - Trenches
I decided I wanted to build some terrain after seeing some trenches on the Privateer Press forums. Trench Thread. So, I broke out my No Quarter issue #29, started planning out the work I'd need to do to get this done. Spent today at the game store working on them. Here's my progress.

Finished my first Theme Force with this model. I completely painted my 50 point Shadow Play Theme Force by finishing Wraith Witch Deneghra.
However, I need to improve my photos. I'm going to be researching light boxes ASAP because these photos make me sad.

Warmachine Weekend Qualifier Results
I ended up going 3-1 at the Madison Warmachine Weekend Qualifier at Pegasus Games. I had a blast playing! I ended up losing to Mary Ann in the first round to a very lucky shot from her. After that, I won all of my games to take 5th overall. I'm terrible at taking photos of games, which means I need to ask Felix how the hell he takes so many photos during a tournament!

Warmachine Weekend Qualifier Tomorrow at Pegasus Games in Madison, WI
Tomorrow is a 50 Point Warmachine Weekend Qualifier at Pegasus Games in Madison, WI. I'm excited I get to travel to the event with Fool, Pook, and G Konkel. Hopefully we all do really well, maybe even win the event! It would be great for someone from our store to win it. I'm expecting players from Madison, Milwaukee, Twin Cities, and Iowa to be there. It'll be a fun day, hopefully I remember to take photos of my games.

Painted Nightmare
I finished this model up today. I'm happy to have finished him, as he's been unfinished for about 4-6 months now. About damn time I got him finished.
A New Look
Well, I've updated the look and feel of the blog. I was pretty bored with the last layout, and I really like what I've done with this one.
If you have any suggestions for it to be better, let me know. I'll take all criticism into consideration.

Painted Ripjaw
Here's my 100th painted Cryx model (coming exactly to 200 painted Cryx points too!). I like him, he came out pretty clean and rather easy.
I painted him while my best friend Rin was over knitting a star. I should have taken a photo of it, but I forgot until posting this. Had a blast, looking forward to the next time

I finished the Daughters of the Flame tonight. I need to do eyes and dip the models, and I'm finished with them for awhile. Very happy with how the unit came out.

Painted Daughters of the Flame - Day 2
Here's my progress after spending a good deal of the day painting the last 5 Daughters of the Flame. I can't wait to finish the last two colors on the last two. Shouldn't take too long after work.
In other new, Seraphsong has challenged me to be fully Hardcore painted by Warmachine Weekend this year. What that means is I have to be fully painted and based with all the armies I'm bringing up there. I plan on working on lists Tuesday, and then start playing them out (and painting the hell out of them). I don't expect to win any awards for painting down there, but it will be fun to be fully painted for the event.

Painted Daughter of the Flame
I've been getting close to hitting 12% painted for a few days now, and I've decided to paint the last 6 models to hit 225 (which is a little more than 12% of my collection). Felix and Michael helped me choose the models. Here's the result, before I dip her.

Painted Arcanist - The Fix
I consulted with my FLGS owner on Tuesday about my Arcanist, and we both really disliked the Christmas Red and Green colors. I was really stuck on using a green, but then realized it didn't matter. Red was the main color of the army, not green, so I decided to paint it a Khaki color rather than green. Here's the new Arcanist.

Painted Mage Hunter Assassin
This is as far as she's going to get tonight. I have to finish her rock, her face, and her hair. But other than that, I'm pretty happy with her.
Painted House Shyeel Magister
I'm no Felix, but I feel pretty good that I'm working my way through the models I have. I want to get to 12% fully painted in my collection (10 left) before I buy new models. This is the 8th model I've finished up in 5 days. Woohoo!
Painted Dawnguard Scyir
I had some time after we got home from my niece's graduation party to lay down the first coat of red. This morning I got the rest of the colors laid down. I need to black line, put some purple on him, and base him. I still like how he came out before all that though.

Painted Retribution Warcasters - Adeptis Rahn and Ravyn, Eternal Light
Here are two models I finished up tonight. There is a slight about of work I need to do to finish them besides basing, but I'm very happy with the two.
Memorial Day Weekend
This last Memorial Day Weekend I decided to assemble some models and play a game.
15 days and my work setup
It has been 15 days since I last made a post. Since then I've done a lot that I'm going to save for another post tonight. But quickly I wanted to share the image of my work desk.
That's my laptop with Garryth sitting on top of it, making sure I work like a good boy.

Busy lately
I've been busy lately cutting Steamroller 2011 zones for 70 tables. As such, I haven't really had time to paint as much.
I did ok at Mayhem Cup, taking 16th. I went 3-2, but I felt the two games I lost I could have easily won had I been paying more attention. It sucks to lose that way, but I'm a better player know because of it. Harsh lessons learned, check!

So, I've been on this mad rush to finish painting my Menoth force for a game two weeks from now. What do I do? I paint a model from a different faction, of course! I'm crazy...

AdeptiCon Wrapup and Photo Dump
Back from AdeptiCon 2011. I've gotten more sleep than I did at the convention. Overall, my feelings were very good about the convention. Privateer Press impressed me a ton with their commitment to making Adepticon a home for Warmachine and Hordes. To do this, they put a battle box of the 4 main Warmachine factions (Cygnar, Khador, Protectorate, Cryx) in the first 1000 grab bags for AdeptiCon. That's right, they put at least $50,000 retail into AdeptiCon's free swag bag. Holy hell!!! Privateer Press earns a very, very large thumbs up from me on this. They were also running demos all weekend and giving out free Primes (the rulebook) to players!
Privateer Press also shipped out some display boards for AdeptiCon. The photos will be after the break. The board that impressed me the most was the Corvis board. This board was used to make a historical battle report in an upcoming edition of No Quarter Magazine and we got to see it early. It looked fucking fantastic. Very, very beautiful. I couldn't stop looking at it. I took photos before models were placed on it, as I forgot I had a camera once AdeptiCon started in earnest (doh!).

Painted Vassal Mechanik
Continuing my progress for the Mayhem Cup, I finished my first Vassal Mechanik I've been working on. He is painted utilizing my current Protectorate color scheme of Blighted Gold, Pig Iron, Bootstrap Leather, Sanguine Base, Menoth White Base, Thamar Black, and Idrian Flesh. I'm very happy with how he turned out and I'm excited to dip him soon.
Tournament Results - March 26 - 50 Point SR 2011
Went to Rydiafan's SR 2011 tournament yesterday. I really meant to take photos, but I was really distracted by the games and never remembered to do so. In the end, I went 2-1 during the day, winning against Trollbloods from Chicago and Cygnar from Madison. I lost against Mercenaries from Madison. This gave me the second place coin! Woot! I learned quite a bit on what I can do in the future to make up for some of my downfalls in the games, but overall, I'm very happy with my progress with the faction.

Tournament Tomorrow
Well, there is a 50 point Steamroller 2011 tournament tomorrow morning at Misty Mountain Games in Madison, WI. I've decided to go and try to win coin and glory for the Protectorate of Menoth. This will be excellent practice for the Mayhem Cup in one month so I've decided to bring the two lists I'll be fielding at the Cup.
I'll be taking some photos of the event as well as trying to remember some of my games. Wish me luck!
Lists after the cut.

Painted Hierophant
For the next part of the of my painting challenge for the Mayhem Cup, I painted my Hierophant model. It was a very interesting model to paint because I had to add more red that I am used to for an emphasis on the model I think it turned out very well. He'll be getting the dip along with the Errants when they are done.

Painted Vassals of Menoth
The first set of models I've worked on to get my army ready for the Mayhem Cup. I finished these two models in an hour on Wednesday, March 9th. Very happy with how they turned out. Thanks Michael for helping pick the hair/flesh tones!
Battle Report: 50 Point Game vs. Cryx
I played against one of my local players, Bryan M. We rolled off for scenario and got Close Quarters. The scenarion has two 8" diameter circles, one on Bryan's side and one on my side. The objective was to control the opposite side's circle by having only your models in it. This scenario forces you across the table.

Painting and Game
In the last few days, I've completed my 200th painted Warmachine and Hordes model. I ended up finishing my Knights Exemplar unit of 4 that weren't done and got them dipped and sprayed. I'll be basing them tonight and getting some photos taken. I'm very happy with how the army is looking and I'm really excited to see the Grand Exemplar Kreoss theme force completed, cause it'll look awesome (think of a ton of Knights running around in armor, that the general idea!) Speaking of Kreoss, that model and Reznik's model both took a dip last night to make those models pop more. I'm terrible at shading, and this Army Painter dipping product is saving my life, making my models look better than ever.

My Painting To Do List: Mayhem Style!
I figure I won't be able to finish both lists, there are just too many models to paint. So, I've come up with a timeline to try to keep myself on track. I've broke them down by due dates, rather than a hard and fast fixed schedule. I'm hoping to get ahead on my goals and have more than 1 week of free time at the end.

Preparing for the Mayhem Cup...
On April 30th, the Mayhem Cup Event will happen again in Madison, WI. This will be Madison's second defense of the cup. Last time, we had 7 players from Hobbytown USA in New Berlin, WI go. We took 6th, 8th, 11th (me), 16th, 20th, 23rd, and 38th out of 44 players. My goal is to break into the top 10. To do this, I've switched factions from Cryx to Protectorate of Menoth. I've been disillusioned by Cryx for a little while now and don't want to get stuck in a rut of playing the same two or three Warcasters over and over (for the record, they were Lich Lord Asphyxious, Wraith Witch Deneghra, and Master Necrotech Mortenebra).
One of the random prizes at the event is the fully painted army drawing. You only need to have one of your two lists you can bring to the event painted, so I'm going to do at least that and try to get both done.
What follows is the craziness I am about to embark on, along with the one guaranteed list and two alternate lists...

Painted Grand Scrutator Severius - Finished
Here is the final for the dipped and painted Grand Scrutator Severius. I'm happy with how the robes came out, I might end up dipping all the previous Protectorate of Menoth models now to make them look as good. The one that that annoys me slightly is the really dark Menofix on Severius staff (the cross-like symbol).

Painted Grand Scrutator Severius - Slight WIP
I felt really motivated after posting the Totem Hunter that I've decided to paint another model. This model is one of the oldest characters in the Iron Kingdoms setting, but he's also one of the most powerful. For being an 80+ year old man, he leads troops and warjacks into battle to destroy the heathens. He was also a lot of fun to paint.
The reason this is a slight work-in-progress (WIP) is because he'll be dipped shortly, but I wanted to show him off now.

Painted Totem Hunter
I started painting this model specifically for a stamp in out Battle Journals (they record our accomplishments throughout the year in relations to Warmachine and Hordes) for this first seasonal league. We had to paint a Mercenary or Minion model/unit, and I painted the Totem Hunter because the model is pretty cool looking and has some awesome abilities.

35 Point Event at Silver Spring Hobby and Games
Played in a 35 point event today. Ended up bring Cryx. Played 1 list throughout the entire event, went 2-1, taking 2nd Place because of the strength of my opponents (how well they've done over the event).
Sure, it was a really short post, but I don't have much to say about it. I'll get a battle report up most likely Thursday.

Painted Cankerworm
This model was the only unpainted model I used in the last battle report and it made me realize that I could paint it within a day or two if I worked on it. So I did. This is the finished product. The base came with the model, I did not custom make it (I wish I was that talented). I used a total of 10 colors on this model: Thamar Black, Necrotite Green, Molten Bronze, Pig Iron, Blighted Gold, and 'Jack Bone on the main part of the Cankerworm. I used Rhulic Gold, Brass Balls, Battlefield Brown, and Bloodstone with Pig Iron, Molten Bronze, and 'Jack Bone on the base. I used an Armor Wash on the model, which is really a black wash. I'm quite happy with the model and think he goes really well with the Lich Lord Asphyxious model I painted last.

Asphyxious vs Blood of Heroes
I played against my friend Pook in a trial 25 point game. Pook doesn't have the 6 Uhlan models yet from the store, so we proxied his force to see if it worked. I believe he was practicing for the 25 Point Stranded Forces event at Adepticon.

First Post (or Hello World!)
This is my first entry into posting my games and paintings up on the internet for Warmachine and Hordes.
A little about me:
I'm a Press Ganger (volunteer) for Privateer Press that helps run demos, leagues, and events for Warmachine, Hordes, Scrapper Games, and Monsterpocalypse. I primarily focus on Warmachine and Hordes.
I'm helping coordinate and promote Warmachine and Hordes events for Adepticon 2011!
I have an army for every faction of Warmachine and Hordes. I have an extensive collection of models that I'm quite proud of (but mostly unfinished).
Some of my goals for this blog:
Record more battle reports of my games.
Showcase off more of my painted models.
Utilize this to motivate me to paint more.
Just have fun!
I hope to follow in my friend Felix's footsteps and create an interesting blog to read.
Have fun!
