Preparing for the Mayhem Cup...

On April 30th, the Mayhem Cup Event will happen again in Madison, WI.  This will be Madison's second defense of the cup.  Last time,  we had 7 players from Hobbytown USA in New Berlin, WI go.  We took 6th, 8th, 11th (me), 16th, 20th, 23rd, and 38th out of 44 players.  My goal is to break into the top 10.  To do this, I've switched factions from Cryx to Protectorate of Menoth.  I've been disillusioned by Cryx for a little while now and don't want to get stuck in a rut of playing the same two or three Warcasters over and over (for the record, they were Lich Lord Asphyxious, Wraith Witch Deneghra, and Master Necrotech Mortenebra).

One of the random prizes at the event is the fully painted army drawing.  You only need to have one of your two lists you can bring to the event painted, so I'm going to do at least that and try to get both done.

This list shares 11 models with the first list, however, 7 of those 11 are already painted.  That gives me 10 other models to paint for this list.  This will be a fall back if I fail to finish the other list.

In either event, this three lists will be fully painted soon, and add quite a bit of a paint to my Protectorate of Menoth collection.  It is a whopping 43 models to paint for lists 1 and 2 or a nice 35 for lists 1 and 3.  We'll see how far I can get.
